We're grateful to Prof. Nagarjuna and Mr. Surendra Patil from gnowledge lab of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, TIFR, Mumbai and Mr. Sadaqat Mulla from Connected Learning Initiative, TISS, Mumbai.
A workshop was conducted by the team on 8th Sept from gnowledge lab, introducing the teachers about the new digital learning environment called DOER (Distributed Decentralized Open Educational Resources). The workshop was conducted for the teachers of the Yamuna Yashwant Nijap High School, Palghar.
The school server now includes several offline open educational resources which will work without Internet connection.
The workshop started by inviting all the teachers to a Telegram group ( called "NDF YY NIJAP" ) to follow up on a regular basis.
The teachers explored Sugar labs, a collection of applications that engage students to learn logic, reasoning, programming, computer graphics, mind map, puzzles etc.
They were oriented about the various variety of resources that were available in the school, such as Stellarium, GeoGebra, Inkscape, FreePlane, Turtle Graphics etc.
The lab at the school now is fully functional, and will will benefit 800 students and teachers of the Yamuna Yashwant Nijap High School, Palghar and the community in the village.
